Product Introduction
The rotary kiln tire (also called a riding ring) and its supporting rollers bear the entire weight of the kiln—often exceeding 1,000 tons including refractory lining and material charge. These components rotate continuously at low speed under massive static and dynamic loads, in an environment of extreme heat and abrasive dust. Failure of a tire or roller can cause the kiln shell to deform irreversibly, leading to catastrophic and extremely costly damage.
Hanwei manufactures rotary kiln tires and rollers from Φ2 m to Φ8 m, using forged alloy steel for the highest structural integrity. Our forged-welded construction process for large tires produces a fine-grained microstructure in the high-stress contact zone, delivering superior fatigue resistance compared to cast alternatives. Surface quality is paramount. The tire riding surface and roller contact surface are precision-machined and ground to minimize contact stress concentrations. We maintain tight cylindricity and runout tolerances, ensuring even load distribution across the full contact width—uneven contact is the primary cause of spalling and premature failure.
For replacement projects, matching the existing tire's bore geometry and taper is critical to achieve proper fit on the kiln shell or chair pads. Our engineering team works from your existing component dimensions—whether from drawings or our on-site measurement service—to produce tires and rollers that drop into the existing support structure without modification. We also supply thrust rollers that maintain the kiln's axial position, manufactured to the same quality standards. With our 100,000 m² facility and integrated production from forging through finish grinding, Hanwei controls the entire quality chain in-house.
